The Savoy in Bangor is a retirement housing complex built in 1990 and run by Clanmil Housing Association Ltd. The Savoy remains one of the few distinctive buildings of the 1930s to survive in Northern Ireland and is a fine example of the Art Deco style.
The demolition of two apartment blocks at the site is underway, and will be replaced with 26 modern new two-bedroom apartments, along with associated landscaping and parking. The new apartment buildings have been designed to complement the distinctive style that the landmark building is known for.
We will be responsible for the design, supply, installation and commissioning of mechanical smoke ventilation systems throughout the two apartment blocks.
When the redevelopment work is completed in summer 2023, these new apartments for active older people will increase the total number of apartments in The Savoy complex from 56 to 65 apartments.
